I’m sitting at my desk and all I want to do is lay my head down and sleep for about 24 hours. I also just realized that I will most...
Can I say I don’t like the word blog? It just rolls off the tongue so strangely and connotes disgust. Anyway, I have decided that...
Oh my god, people under the age of… um… ? I don’t know? Just… stop following me, young children. There is nothing for you here.
“Afterward, both Harris and the woman said, he threw $12 at her as payment.”
Not only that he threw cash at this woman, but that he is so okay with it, that he would admit it.
The whole thing is so gross.
Believe me when I say that I’m certainly not a “F’ tha police” kind of girl but stuff like this makes me apprehensive. This officer was so confident in his power that he admitted to paying her for sex. (Even though it’s clear that any sex had was coercive and probably rape.)
I understand that the men and women who serve as our police force face dangers and stresses that, as civilian, I cannot properly appreciate. But this sort of thing isn’t exactly respect-building.
My husband is a prosecutor for the same county in which this took place. We argue endlessly about the abuses of power I think that his office, and the police force serves them, commits. He thinks that I am naive and underinformed.
I have more to say, but my brain hurts. Must sooth with silly iPhone game.
